What Is Triangle Fraternity?
Founded in 1907 by sixteen civil engineering students at the University of Illinois, Triangle is a social and professional fraternal organization for young men pursuing degrees in engineering, architecture, and the sciences. Triangle Fraternity was founded upon high ethical and moral ideals, to create an environment surrounded by academic excellence, valuable social interactions, rewarding leadership and service opportunities, and a sense of brotherhood that is difficult to find elsewhere. More than just a fraternity, Triangle consists of like-minded men dedicated to the betterment of each other and society.
Triangle's mission statement reads, "The purpose of Triangle shall be to maintain a fraternity of engineers, architects and scientists. It shall carry out its purpose by establishing chapters that develop balanced men who cultivate high moral character, foster lifelong friendships, and live their lives with integrity." |
No Greek Letters?Triangle Fraternity is one of three national fraternities that does not have Greek letters. The name alludes to the engineering roots of the organization, as the triangle is a fundamental component to any structure that is meant to maintain strength, integrity, and last for generations. Additionally it represents the fact that Triangle is unlike many other organizations, and exists to construct better men out of those that the fraternity is comprised of.

Transparency in the Process
|
We understand that fellow students in our fields of study are often uninterested in, or skeptical about the idea of joining a fraternity. The new member process is structured around the morals of Triangle and to promote bonding between the brothers and new members without the typical "events" of other fraternities.
